It is famous for bird watching, sunset view, panoramic scenic beauties, and many colours of oceanic view.The main attractions here include the ChidiyaTapu Biological Park, ChidiyaTapu Beach and the Munda Pahad beaches. There is also a forest guest house at the top of the hillock that provides sunset views as well as views of the islands beyond ChidiyaTapu. The water in this region is alive with bright corals which makes it an excellent site for snorkeling.
ChidiyaTapu is roughly 30 kilo meters from the city of Port Blair. Most traveller’s rent a car or bike to reach ChidiyaTapu from Port Blair. Travelers can take the winding road, through the forest and hills.
ChidiyaTapu is roughly 30 kilo meters from the city of Port Blair, and it will take around 40-50 minutes to reach. Most taxis charges is around 1500 to 2000 INR to go ChidiyaTappu, while Auto cab ride will take around 1200 INR.
Time to visit ChidiyaTapuis morning 10 AM to 4.30 PM. But the best time to visit Chidiyatapu is in the afternoon 2.00 PM, so that the guests can witness the magical sunset in the evening.
